Away From the Dock
And so it is. I cast off on the blogger sea to explore life, both my own and the rest of the world as I see it. My mission is to seek with an open mind and heart, not to be trapped by the old eyes that for so long have filtered incoming data through a screen of pain and wound. I long to see more clearly, outside of the confines of any box that I may have stuck myself in before, and to which I’m prone to climb back in. I know this is a journey I must take. The time has come. To cast away from the dock.
As I move out to sea, I think of what may lay ahead. Images flash before my eyes of politics, religion, realtionship, love, work, racisim and other prejudice, women and men, travel, personal growth, and other images less clear that I cannot make out. I realize that these may be places I will move through from time, sharing different than norm perspectives and hopefully learning from others who see differently than I do. Through the medium of my photographic art, poetry and other posts, I hope to express that which lies beneath the surface. It beckons to be expressed.
Hopefully along the way there will be laughter and much, much joy. Because you see… it’s not about getting anywhere. Getting to some place that exists out there where it all comes together and makes sense. It’s simply about the journey. And I damn sure want to have some fun along the way.
Join me. Put me in your blogroll and give me a read from time to time. Respond when you feel it’s right. You sharing your response can be a gift to me and others. Your perspcetive is as valuable as anyone else’s.
I’ll catch you on the next wave.
